HISTORY
Ben Gramling III represents the fourth generation of Gramling Brothers. With the decline of the peach business in upstate South Carolina, Ben embarked on a career in real estate and development. Working at first under the guidance of his uncle, John Gramling II, he assisted in the creation of many successful residential communities, including River Falls Plantation in Spartanburg with its award-winning golf course designed by Gary Player. In 2001, after years of working both in the Upstate and Charleston, Ben moved to the Lowcountry where Gramling Brothers developed Summerhaven and Summer Park; Arbor Oaks; the luxury condominiums Reverie on the Ashley; and Cane Bay Plantation, one of the largest master-planned communities in the state.
Ben’s father and uncles instilled within him a deep devotion to the land and his Uncle John—who founded the real estate business— taught Ben not to focus merely on the bottom line. Responsible, sustainable land development that preserved the natural beauty and resources of the land was paramount. Ben brought this conviction with him to the Lowcountry where he has remained committed to preserving the natural landscape and -- even more significantly -- intent upon creating comfortable, safe, convenient, and beautiful communities that people can proudly call home. These same convictions have served him well as his company's purview was expanded to include commercial development in historic Charleston and the surrounding area.

We are committed to preserving the natural and social qualities of the area through smart, responsible land development. We work tirelessly with community leaders and environmental experts, listen generously and respond with solutions that protect the culture and environment of the area while applying new ideas that will enhance quality of life. We also strive to give back by regularly donating money, land, and time to support community medical clinics, school systems, and events near our developments.
